Music Unveiled – From Paris to Amsterdam

The latest installment of Music Unveiled launched our Autumn/Winter programme for 2026 – ‘In Conversation’ – on Tuesday 25 August in Westside Library. The Music Unveiled team explored our September programme – ‘From Paris to Amsterdam’, preparing our ears for next week’s live concerts.

This session was led by Music Lecturer at University of Galway, Dr Amanda Feery, who expertly led us through the shimmer and colour of Debussy’s string quartet. We also heard from Galway-based composer Jane O’Leary who lifted the lid of her fanfare piece ‘Forever Begin’,

Our Music Unveiled events are paired with our Lunchtime with ConTempo series (which takes place in St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church on the first Tuesday of the month) and ConTempo Countwide series (which takes place in communities around Galway county).

Ahead of these concerts, we deconstruct some of the featured repertoire so you can learn about the music performed at our concerts and connect with the works more deeply.

This session is brought to you in partnership with Galway City Council Arts Office as part of its Cultural Partnerships initiative, and Galway’s city libraries and University of Galway’s Music Department. You can hear these works in full, and more, on Tuesday 1 September in St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church at 1:10pm and again on Sunday 6 September in The Mall, Tuam at 5pm.

Entry to these concerts is on a pay-what-you-can contribution (suggested €5 – €15 pp)
