This year’s Poetry Day Ireland takes place on Thursday 28 April, and the 2022 theme is ‘Written in the Stars’. Now in its eighth year, this day-long celebration of the crafted word, spoken and written, is presented by Poetry Ireland in partnership with poetry enthusiasts the length and breadth of the island of Ireland.
As part of this day of celebration, MusicConnects is taking a look back at its Creative Responses project. Creative Responses is a community outreach initiative created during the Covid-19 pandemic, through which local artists and writers explore a deep connection to music within their own art form, inspired by ConTempo Quartet. On Poetry Day, we’re reflecting on poetry from Eva Bourke (in response to Dvorak) and Vincent Woods (in response to Haydn) and artwork by Kinvara Area Visual Artists.
