Music Unveiled – January

A New Guided Listening Event

One week before each concert, Music Unveiled will deconstruct some of the featured Lunchtime with ConTempo repertoire, empowering you to understand its structure, inspiration and context, as well as the performers’ interaction with the work and composer. The sessions will be led by Head of Music at University of Galway, Dr Aidan Thomson, with inputs by featured contemporary composers and live demonstrations by ConTempo Quartet.

The series begins on January 28th at 11am in Ballybane Library when the Music Unveiled team will be exploring Haydn’s Frog Quartet and Judith Ring’s Of Wood and Water, two works featured on our World Wetlands Day programme at Lunchtimes with ConTempo on Tuesday 4th February, 1:10pm.

Music Unveiled and Lunchtime with ConTempoare free, inclusive and accessible initiatives. The Music Unveiled sessions will be filmed and made available online for those who can’t make it in person. Booking for Music Unveiled is required through the relevant libraries. The series is supported by Galway City Council’s Cultural Partnerships Initiatives.
