The Lunchtimes with ConTempo series continues this April with an evocative and powerful Easter performance by ConTempo Quartet. Following a mini-tour to Ballinasloe and Cois Fharraige, ConTempo return to Galway City to the stunning surroundings of Saint Nicholas’ Collegiate Church with a performance of Joseph Haydn’s meditation on “The Seven Last Words of Christ”.

ConTempo Quartet is the resident ensemble of MusicConnects and was RTE’s Resident Quartet from 2014 until 2019. Praised as a “fabulous foursome” (Irish Independent) and noted for performances which are “exceptional” (The Strad) and “full of imaginative daring” (The Irish Times), ConTempo Quartet has forged a unique place in Irish musical life.
