We open our Autumn/ Winter season under the theme, In Conversation. The string quartet has always held a fascination in music for composers across cultures and centuries. This season we invite you to explore its many voices with us – some familiar and some rarely heard – from a myriad of European cultures in conversation with the incredible work of Irish composers.
Beginning with the first of four repertoire programmes, Paris to Amsterdam brings you the mesmerising colour of French composer Claude Debussy’s String Quartet in G minor alongside the rhythmical Dutch offering by Chiel Meijering’s Candy Box and all in conversation with Galway-based composer, Jane O’Leary work, full of hope, optimism and renewal, Forever Begin.
