Lines of Listening – October 18th 2026

Join us for Lines of Listening, a Creative Responses initiative in partnership with Arts in Action, University of Galway on Sunday morning, October 18th. Artist Maeve Curtis and Author Mike McCormack lead these deep listening workshops where participants respond to this season’s music through mark making either in paint or in words – exploring process, reflection and connection.

This session of Lines of Listening will focus on our upcoming November repertoire from our Autumn/Winter Programme:

In Conversation: One sea, two shores

Feel the heat of Spanish string quartet repertoire, alongside lesser-known Maltese flavours. Joaquín Turina’s Oración del Torero depicts a bullfighter’s prayer before entering the ring, while Joseph Vella’s 3 Danze Antiche con Preludio reimagines Baroque dance and Karl Fiorini’s Maltese Quicky sparkles. Irish composer Rhona Clarke’s Pas de Quatre, written for ConTempo Quartet, completes the programme.

Open to all. No experience needed. Materials provided.

Booking for Lines of Listening is through the Arts in Action Eventbrite.

A maximum of 16 places are available per session so early booking is advised.
