We are delighted to collaborate with the Romanian Embassy to Ireland and the Romanian Association of Music Performers on two upcoming concerts in Galway this month to mark Romanian National Day.
The first, this Sunday 23 November at 3pm in St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church, is ForestAria – an artistic project celebrating the creativity of women in contemporary music. It brings together new string quartet compositions, evocative photography, and the natural and cultural landscapes that inspire them. Performed by our own ConTempo Quartet, hailing from Bucharest, ForestAria invites audiences to explore how sound, image, and place intertwine — creating a sensory journey through music and nature.
Four contemporary composers — Rucsandra Popescu, Oana Vardianu, Sarah Marze, and Crea Sullivan — have each created an original work showcasing their individual artistic voices and perspectives on today’s musical landscape. Each composer is also portrayed in a photographic work by visual artist Mihai Benea, whose technique blends human presence with natural textures — revealing the deep connection between the artist and the landscape.
